Vending At The Piazza:
Yesterday a dear friend of mine (Melissa) and I participated in a Bazaar at the Piazza at the Schmidt's in the Northern Liberties area of Philadelphia. She sold her Flower Fairy accessories and of course I sold Exo31 Art creations. I did a lot of networking and made some new contacts, which I am looking forward to staying in touch with and perhaps collaborating with.

Thought For The Day:
I talk about a lot about the small things that God uses to give me big revelations. And today I got another one. I have the awesome opportunity to spend some time with some pretty special young people this week. As I traveled to their home, I found myself lost. Never mind that they live in the same zip code, and even the same neighborhood. Go figure! And before you laugh too hard...I wasn't terribly lost, and it didn't take me hours to find my way either.

The bottom line is...I was lost. It was strange because I always found myself lost going and not leaving. And so this morning on my way out I got a good revelation!

Starting something new and mapping your way through that something new is often the hardest part of the journey. It takes courage, and faith, and tenacity, and humbleness, and a whole slew of other amazing character traits needed to combat fear, apprehension and uncertainties that come along with something new.

The amazing thing about something new is that at some point it is no longer new. There is a grove that takes place and it becomes routine. The fear and anxiety that was once attached to new dissipates, and often things start to fall in place and become far clearer.

So as I traveled out of the neighborhood with ease I realized that the newness that life has thrown me at this point is part of the journey. I'm just settling into who I am created to be. It's not meant to break, but to build. It's not a place to get stuck in, but a place to learn, appreciate, and move on from.

My destiny awaits...and I run to meet it with gladness!

Pearls Of Wisdom:
Pursuing your destiny is not to be trifled with. Fulfillment will never take place without pursuing it. Everyone has one...will you run to yours with fervor?

Be blessed!

Thought For The Day:
A few posts ago I talked about how sometimes it takes a few no's to get to the yes that opens the door to your destiny. Well, this past weekend I got a "no". I didn't blog about this opportunity really. It was a more artistic community in where I was looking to sell my jewelry and scarfs. It seemed like a great opportunity, but at the end of the day, it was still a no. They gave no specific reason as to why, but just that they weren't looking for my "type" of product at the moment. Yup...it stung a bit. However, I chalk it up to a better opportunity down the pike. So, despite the "no", I will continue on in search of the yes!

On My Work Desk:
The finished products of the paintings posted on Friday. The first one is 8x10 and done on canvas covered board. The painting is sitting on the planks of the painting in the last picture. The third painting is done on five wooden planks. Here they are shown together, but they will be separated with about an inch in between each of them. I am thinking that I want it to be displayed vertically as oppose to horizontally, but that has yet to be determined.

Thought For The Day:
Good AM World! By the time this post goes out, it will be about 8am. I have been at my office (Starbuck's) for about 30 minutes. That means that I will have a good 3 hours to get some things done before getting to my massage clients.

I managed to accomplish a few things this morning before leaving the house. It's pretty amazing that God has chosen to show me some detailed things within the span of a week. On Monday I understood what a husband who is chasing after his dreams may feel like. Momentarily I felt what I can imagine being the heart wrentching weight of him having to leave the home not knowing if his dream will be enough to support his family one day, but still feeling the urge to keep pushing. Then today I understood what it may feel like to be a mother. I got up, spent time with God, cooked, cleaned, did some laundry, prepared for the day and was out the door...all before 7am! I managed to multitask beautifully, and now spending time on this thing called purpose.

So today is gearing up to be absolutely splendid! I may start to run out of gas before the day is over, but I have no time to think about that right now. The push is on, and I am riding its wave steadily!

On My Work Desk:
I have been really into shapes, patterns and colors for the last few years. These patterns I posted about a week ago in a sketch. I have started to act upon those sketches and here is the start. The planks are a part of another painting surrounding the same pattern.

Faith

This hot pink summer scarf is made of blended fibers with a touch of sparkle to it. It is extremely light and appropriate for this time of year. As with the others previously posted, it is a little over 15 inches long and is perfect for casual or semi-casual wear.

The price of this item is $25 (tax & shipping not included), and please remember that the paypal button under the scarf is ONLY for this hot pink color scarf.  There will be posts following with other scarfs available to purchase, and the return policy is the same as that for Exo31 Art, LLC jewelry. Thought For The Day:
Each day I awake in the predicament that I am currently in, I ask God and wonder to myself, "How are things going to work today?"

I have been thinking a lot about the word faith lately. Of course I know it to be defined as the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 12:1), but hoping when things look bleek is not an easy task. Hoping and being sure that you are following the path that you are supposed to go is the most difficult to swallow. Things look bleak and there is sometimes seemingly no end.

Swallowing I am! The transparent truth is, following my purpose is not glamorous at this point. Each moment there is something new. That newness can be exciting and overwhelming. I don't have all the answers, and sometimes don't know where to begin to find them. I don't always feel like I have the time nor the energy. And I don't always feel like I am capable of completing the task at hand.

So I have listed a few dont's, but it is the do's that keep me afloat. I do know that if I wasn't able to handle my gifts that I was given, I wouldn't have them. I do have the tenacity to stay on course with this journey no matter what things look like. I do have the ability to create a legacy and make a tremendous difference with this gift. At the end of the day, no matter what happens... I do continue to pursue this God given vision.

I DO HAVE FAITH!!!!

There you have it folks! Thank you for reading and commenting! Until next post.....

Journal Pages of The Day:
A few from the last few days. The knot serves as a preliminary sketch for a painting. I did a small painting from the sketch, but can't share it as of yet. However it will be shown soon!

Thought For The Day:
Today I am on what I call, "my grind"! I am feeling good. I'm on top of things today! I have been sitting in my office (Starbuck's) for about 4 hours now. I can't say that I have gotten as much done as I would have liked within the 4 hours, but I am sure further along than when I sat down.

I call that an accomplishment! As a matter of fact, I am learning not to beat myself up for not getting as much done as I anticipated I would when I plan my day out. I am learning that there is no coincidence to the flow of my day...on course or not. Perhaps what I call a distraction is not a distraction at all.  When it's all said and done, I believe I accomplish and complete the tasks intended for me to accomplish and complete for that day. The Creator...my Creator has mapped out my day perfectly, and I glad for the guidance!

Thanks for reading! Until next post...

Thought For The Day:
Again I have been feeling like there is not enought time in the day. Of course it could be my fault. Most days I make great strides to get done what I need to. It's the days when I don't write out a list that are the worst. It's like time just is sucked away.

So now that I have decided that I am going to take much of this summer to get my portfolio together so that I can start applying to some artist residencies (as soon as late fall), I have been avoiding my studio. I like that I have a place to call a studio, but if I have to be honest, it's not my favorite place. Let me clarify a bit.

I just started reading this book called "Imagine" by Jonah Lehrer. My dear sister-friend Trish blessed me with it after I read it a bit while we chatted at B&N, and I complained that I wanted to purchase the book, but needed to wait until it came out in paperback. I am not that far into the book, but the sleeve said something that caught my attention. It explained that the color blue is the best color to ignite creativity. I thought, "Hmm...that is why I feel so comfortable in my room." I made the switch from off white to blue about 3 years ago while redesigning my room. I wasn't so sure why I was compelled to choose blue because the purple and pink family is what I am normally drawn to. Perhaps God knew that I would need all the help I could get to always be fresh creativly.

I say all that to say that I am happier in my room creating that I am in my studio. There is something comforting in knowing that I can work and take a nap in the same area. My room is warm, and my studio...well, kind of cold. It is in my basement with little natural light and there is more than just my studio there. The other side serves as a storage area. This all may seem like complaining, but please understand my plight. I am extremely grateful for the studio area that I have...don't get me wrong. I could be working with nothing. I have attempted to make what I have a home, but it is no longer working in the manner in which is favorable for my work or my creative process.

My mission now is to work through. I need to get these pieces done, and I have lots of other things on the horizon. All of which cannot be held back by me not wanting to work in my studio. I will tie up my bootstraps and get to work...regardless of how I feel!

With that being said, you all will be seeing some completed painting real soon. I apologize beforehand because none of these paintings will be on sale as of yet.

Keep it easy folks! Until next post...

A new print fabric for you all! I am somewhat veering away from solid colors because I think the prints are so unique and add something exciting!

I am so excited to introduce the new spring scarf design. It is super light and not too long either. This one is already spoken for, but check back within the next few days to see new colors and designs!
