New Designs

So we have some new designs for you today. Of course I am going to separate posts to make it easier to purchase. 

This pair is lighter that the pairs that I have created thus far. The pattern is great for this upcoming summer season. The darker stitching is in the front of this pair and makes it great for day or night wear.

I took some time to have some R&R yesterday. A friend and I had pre-plans to do much of nothing but connect. We did lots of walking and had lunch and dinner in the part of the city that gave me the inspiration for the screen earrings! Thanks Deb!

My day of R&R yesterday rejuvenated me to be ready to tackle today. So excited to post and get some work done! I am focused, working, and having a good time doing so! Thank you God!
 
You may have noticed that all of the earrings that I posted for sale have been sold. The large sale came at the hand of Naffessa Paschall the owner of I Do Diva Jewelry! She purchased 11 pairs and will be carrying my earrings in her line.

Now you may be asking how in the world could I be plugging another jewelry business when I sell my own jewelry? Well I am glad that you ask! The jewelry items that I create and sell are quite different than those that are in her line. And even if that weren't the case, I am a big believer of what is for me is for me! That means that I am confident in the gift and audience that God has given for me to touch! No competition or jealousy necessary!

First Sales

Used red stitching to pull out the red of the flowers in the fabric

This pair is unique in that I painted the screen with a pearl purple that actually looks more like baby blue. I am quite fond of the design of the fabric, and decided to pull out the red color and add it as the accent color for the stitching.

Thought For The Day:

I was extremely excited to have announced two weeks ago that I made my first sales!!! It came at the hand of a friend of mine who is a fellow sister in Christ and an awesome business woman!

While I am on the subject, I want to take time to give her business and blog a shout out. Her name is Princess, and as mentioned above, she is a fellow sister in Christ. About two years ago or so she started a blog that speaks to those that are "Living Single in Christ". She posts about a plethora of things, but mostly about how singles living for God can find encouragement, and resources on just how to be successfully single. The Rush

I wanted to make a slight change in this pair, so I did! I actually changed the placement of how they would hang on the ear. instead of the stitching being in the back and hidden, I decided that it would be decent for this pairs stitching to shine. So here you have it! The fabric that I used has small discreet red flowers in the pattern that adds a slight unassuming design effect that I love!


Thought For The Day:
The rush of a day can be so fascinating, and yet so daunting. Let me explain. Today I managed to get a few pairs of earrings created (all of which should be photographed and posted within the next few days), had a few massage clients, and get some domestic things taken care of. Now, here it is almost 8:30 and I still have yet to get all the things that I feel like I need to get done...DONE!

I feel like I am rushing! I feel like I have my own time clock to conquer, and I am losing the battle. There are so many things to accomplish and there is a sense of anxiety that comes along with the things I know I need to get done. I have created a list in my mind and only have managed to cross off one or two things on today's list.

I am attempting to breathe, but then I am also remembering it is this rush that motivates me to move forward...to keep chugging at what I know I should be doing....my purpose...my journey.

So there you have it...a bit stressed, a bit uncertain of how to get all that I need to get done, done, but tenacious in the journey despite of how I feel!

Thought Of The Day:

I am not always the best at making the best of my time. As a matter of fact...as stated in another post, there never seems to be enough time in the day to get what I need to get done...done! I have to fess up and say the reality is that I am not always conscious of the time that slips by me. I am a huge daydreamer! I can spend hours daydreaming...thinking...contemplating...conceptualizing. And while all these things are great, and serve as great vehicles to my work, sometimes I just need to get down to business.

Posting has been going relatively well these days. I am convinced I must do it...and that keeps me on my P's & Q's. Quite frankly...I like to give folks a little insight to my thought process. So while I am making time to post, I need to make time to do the other things I know that I need to accomplish. Ahh what life would be if I could create, sell, show, and post about my work all day. I'm desperately working toward it folks! I'm created to do this here thing!

It's Leopard Time

This pair is inspired by the Praise & Worship color scheme that I needed to adhere to this month. I happened to find some pretty great leopard fabric the night before and decided to make a pair to don on Sunday. They were a hit. I actually needed to go to Walmart to get a few cards for Mother's day and a woman gave me rave reviews for the earrings. I gave her my business card and told her that she could have a pair too!

I have created a few pairs over the weekend, but will be posting each pair separately so there is no confusion.

An Artists Needs

I have created another pair of screen earrings today. I am loving the colors that pop in this pair. I sewed the same stitch down the back, but used a lighter color to make it more noticable.

Thought For The Day:

I need more time! Perhaps I am the only artist that needs more time, but there is just not enough time in the day for me to get all the conceptualized pieces in my mind out. If you have been following me for any amount of time you know that in addition to getting my art career off and running, my life is ministry, and on top of that...I am a massage therapist!

What do I really want? Well, I am glad that you ask! Ideally, I would love a place like my local watering hole (Starbuck's) to be open 24 hours or at least until 3 or 4 in the AM. I mean there are bars on multiple corners open until at least 2am. So is it too much to ask that there be a local coffee house that is open till the wee hours of the morning? Okay perhaps I am asking too much seeing that I don't live in the city, but artists live in the suburbs too!!! Maybe I need to open one around here and put it close to the local college campuses. If no one else would appreciate it, the college students would.
